Polysomnography Course

General Information: Polysomnography Course is held two times per year (Spring and Fall) at the Sleep and Alertness Clinic, Med-West Medical Centre, 790 Bay St., Suite 800, Toronto ON M5G 1N8.
Course Times: Total session: 17, two hours each. Time: Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 01:00 p.m. to 03:00 p.m. (except holidays).

CECs: Previous Program Sessions have been approved for 34 credits (hours) of Continuing Education Credits (CECs) by either the Canadian Sleep Society (CSS) or American Association of Sleep Technologists (AAST).

The course is conducted by: Pintu Bhuiya, MBBS, RPSGT, RST, Nada Huterer, MD* (B&H). Other instructors involved are: Prof Dr. Colin Shapiro, BSc, MBBCh, PhD, MRCPsych, FRCPC; Inna Voloh, MD* (Russia), RPSGT; Naheed K. Hossain, MBBS, RPSGT; Dragana Jovanovic, BSc, RPSGT; Yulia Kaushansky, BSc, RPSGT, RST; Sharon Chung, PhD.

Thursday Sleep Rounds

The Thursday morning rounds occurs on the first Thursday of each month. Members of the clinic and industry partners present on various topics including: Clinical case presentations

  • Technical issues related to conducting sleep assessments
  • Research findings as related to sleep medicine
  • New equipment and/or innovations from industry
  • Hands-on experience with mask fitting and use of CPAP equipment

Pediatric Sleep Day 2016

Attend in Person or electronically via Telehealth (OTN) or Webcasting but we would really love to see you in person!! Even if you're not in Ontario, no worries! With webcasting there are no geographic barriers. We will offer the usual (AAST, MOCOMP) accreditation for attendance We will be in touch in the next few months with Program and Registration details.

Polysomnography Course

General Information: Polysomnography Course is held two times per year (Spring and Fall) conducted by the Sleep and Alertness Clinic.
Course Times: A total of 18 sessions course. The sessions are conducted on Saturdays (except holidays) from 10:00am to 03:00pm with an hour lunch break at 12pm.

Course outline, schedule and additional information for the fall 2016 will be announced.

CECs: April 2016 Session has been approved for 34 Continuing Education Credits (CECs) by the AAST (American Association of Sleep Technologists).

Opening events:
Thursday the 1st of October - 6:00 pm - 8:00 p.m.
Saturday, the 3rd of October -12:00 pm and 3:00 p.m.

The location is Metro Hall Rotunda at John 55 Street (close to the Roy Thomson Hall), and it is on the subway line, close to St. Andrew Station).

There will be a musical event at the exhibition on Saturday between noon and 3 pm. This is particularly aimed at children (and their parents).
If you are unable to attend but would like to make a donation, please fill out and mail the attached donation card. We are most appreciative of your support. A full tax receipt will be issued for all donations. If it is a cheque, it should be addressed to: Youthdale Foundation - Sleep Program and mailed to 750 Dundas Street West, Toronto, ON M6J 3S3.

Pediatric Sleep Day 2015
"Learning, Memory and Sleep"

~7 AAST CECs will be available for Pediatric Sleep Day & MOCOMP credits for both Pediatric Sleep Day & Adolescent Brain Development and Behaviour Day

For 2015, the 2-day meeting will feature the Youthdale Brain and Development Day Thursday March 26th and Pediatric Sleep Day 2015 on Friday March 27th.
