Nada Huterer
MD (B&H, *NLO); RPSGT
Nada Huterer, has been involved in the field of sleep medicine since 1994 when she joined the Sleep & Alertness Clinic. She was Co-Director of the International Sleep Clinic, West Parry Sound Health Centre (1997-2004) & Managing Director at the Sleep & Alertness Clinic in Toronto (2005-2011). She retired in January 2012 but continued to be involved at our sleep clinics as a consultant and QC internal auditor.
She participated in a number of research projects, published papers & abstracts at the American & European Sleep Research Meetings & was a co-author of the book “Fighting Fatigue & Sleepiness” (2005). She has extensive experience in analyzing & interpreting polysomnographic records. She has been involved in training polysomnographic technologists.
She also presented at CME courses for physicians & technologists (Parry Sound, Fort Erie & abroad) & was a speaker at the sleep medicine events organized for public. She was a co-author of the paper about shiftwork published in the Canadian Journal of Diagnosis (February, 1998) & she wrote an article in the Globe & Mail related to snoring & sleep apnea (Aug. 19, 2008).
Nada Huterer is originally from Sarajevo where she completed her medical degree, residency in internal medicine & graduate study in oncology. She accomplished a career as a hemato-oncologist at the teaching hospital in Sarajevo prior to immigrating to Canada. She is a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine & Canadian Sleep Society.
