Dr. Marta Novak
MD, FRCPC

Marta Novak obtained her medical degree, did her residency and completed her PhD at the Semmelweis University, Budapest, Hungary. She also completed a research and a clinical fellowship in Sleep Medicine at the Department of Psychiatry, University of Toronto.

Her clinical and research interests focus on the epidemiology and significance of sleep disorders as well as sleep disorders and quality of life in general, with a particular interest in patients with chronic renal disease.

She is an author of several papers and also the editor of a Hungarian handbook on sleep medicine.

She is the head of the Sleep Medicine Group where she supervises PhD students in Budapest. She is an assistant professor of Psychiatry, University Health Network, University of Toronto and  holds a cross-appointment as an associate professor at the Institute of Behavioral Sciences at the Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary.
