Israeli Poems

This is a very famous Israeli song, a lullaby that was written by a writer who couldn’t have any kids of her own, but wrote plenty of songs and stories for kids, that became a classic in Israeli literature.
For some of them, including this one, music was written for, making them even better known and loved.

Goldilocks the Doll is Tired

Lyrics: Miriam Yalan-Stekelis
Music: Tsvi Kaplan

Goldilocks the doll is tired
The bear is very tired too.
Shadows came into the room,
Whispering to me: ’good night’.

In the bed Nurit is ling,
Next to her lies teddy bear
And a ball and a rabbit
And they all want to sleep.

But suddenly Nurit gets up,
‘Daddy! Daddy!’ she calls.
‘come quick, make the dark go away,
he is misbehaving, bad boy!

Laughed Goldilocks the doll,
And the teddy bear laughed very much.
‘Why make the dark go away?
He is a good boy!
